I just moved and I have been informed that I need to change my vehicle registration to my new address. Can anyone tell me where the Motor vehicle office for Itaewon is? Does anyone know if they speak English there?
Thanks,

Take the form - I am assuming this is how you were informed? That's how I was informed . . . Anyway, take the form to a local police station - they'll tell you where to go. No big deal - easy to do. Expect to pay some taxes - so take a little cash with you. |

The Form? No, I moved. They don't have my address. That's the problem. I can't receive anything because they don't have my address. |

Help me out here . . . So, how were you "informed" that you needed to do this? Can that person tell you where it is? Or, my guess would be that the cops at the police station all speak pretty English reasonably well.
Anyway, sorry - I don't know. When I got mine there was actually a little map on the form.
Good luck! |

I was informed through word of mouth by my employer who knew I had a car and knew I was moving. |

Then I wouldn't worry about it - or tell them to find out for you. You'll eventually get something in the mail.
The car I bought was registered in Seoul - and after a few months I got a notice in the mail to change the registration to where I live (not Seoul). Even had a map on it. I think the Koreans are pretty organized about these things.
Might be better to wait for the form in the mail - might be hard to make the change without it. I tried to pay a traffic ticket once before the form came in the mail - impossible! |

hmmm....thanks for the input.
This thread seems to be going in a circle though.
I can't receive anything in the mail because I've moved and they don't have my new address.
Anyways, this threa has been on here for a bit and no one has posted anything about the location of the Department of Motor Vehicles......so I guess I'd better refer to a Korean friend.
Thanks anyway,

Get you Korean friend to help you. I just had to register a vehicle I bought. If I hadn't had a Korean friend, it would have been really difficult.
I am sure it is easy, but is your Korean up to the task of asking someone, once you find the right place, for the correct form, etc.? My isn't. Good on you if yours is. |
