Hi again everyone.

I arrived here only 5 days ago and I'm looking to find a church with a service for foreigners in Wonju. I know that going to church really isn't high on the priority lists for many for most FT's in Korea but serious help would really be appreciated here!

If you look at the FAQ thread of english services, I'm sure that you can find someone at one of those numbers who has contact info of something in Wonju.

yeah thats a good thread, with some good info.
Pity it's locked, I guess all the "good churches" in Korea have all been found and documented there.

Be aware some of the groups listed there, particularly one that is big in Salt Lake City, has a bit of a dodgy history.

Well we can't all be saints Wink
I'm a girl by the way, woman actually, Libra
And as far as being saintly goes, I don't think I fare too bad.
I certainly don't remember being "hurtful" to anyone

Well, I would drop by the chuch downtown in Wonju with the huge statue of Jesus and of the archangel visible from the street. They may not have an international service, but my guess is that you'd feel at peace in such a beautiful church.

Thanks for the advice.

Where exactly is this place with the beautiful angel outside? I am very new to this city and even though Wonju is small... it's still confusing to me at the moment.

It's due South of the train station on Main St. (if you pass Jugang Market, you've been too far). You can't miss it. The statues are huge and very white.

Thanks!

I will try to find it.

I think I will be hard pressed to find an English service in Wonju. I'm guessing I'll need to go to Seoul...

Appreciate the advice!

Why don't you drop by a church and ask? I had met a pastor in Wonju that have lived in the US for some time and spoke English very well. You could also try to contact the pastor at one of the US bases in Wonju. He or she might be able to help.
