Culturally, which do find easier to deal with in this case?

The Japanese who often look down on most of our countries as being inferior.

The Koreans, who constantly look for reassurance about their importance in the world by fishing for compliments.

Obviously this question doesn't really apply to Americans as they are the one country the Japanese don't tend to look down on.

Well, you know, I really get on well in both countries, now that I've convinced myself that I truly am inferior. Indeed, I've decided to embrace my inferiority and wear it like a badge. That's right, I'm damned proud of my inferiority! And I don't take any guff from people who won't treat me in an appropriately patronising way, either.

Yes indeed, I find this attitude works very well. I get down on myself a whole lot less now that I don't have much of a self. Moreover, all disagreements tend to dissolve into moot points when we strive to actually become moot points ourselves. But I can only speak for myself, which isn't all that much.

America isn't the only country the Japanese don't look down on. They don't look down on most western countries.

Asian countries, yes.

African countries are not looked down upon but seem to be looked at with strange curiousity.

To answer your question; both suck

yeah i can see you look insecure toward Japan as you being non-American and you look down on Korea for sure.
well, i think Korea needs to be flattered cause they have had the most fantastic transformation on the earth.
1960s, Phillippines and Thailand aided poor Korea with free rice.

The Japanese have only ever been beaten in their entire thousands of years old history by one country, America. No wonder they have a superiority complex.

The Koreans on the other hand have been beaten by the Chinese, Mongols, Russians, Japanese, French, Americans, Manchus, ...
No wonder they have an inferiority complex.

As for which one is easier to deal with, matko is right.

Of course the Australians, Canadians, English, Kiwis, and other members of the allied forces played no part in the war....

Who was the supreme allied commander for the Pacific theatre?

Who nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki and ended the war?

Who wrote up the surrender agreements and on whose battleship was said agreement signed?

Who put together the occupation government and whose officers ran it?

Who wrote Japan's post war constitution?

Simple put, it was the Americans who were the driving force behind the Pacific theatre of WWII, and it was to the Americans that the Japanese surrendered.

Actually, I am an American citizen (by virtue of my parents), but what my exact nationality is is anyone's guess. Born in Jakarta, grew up in the Kalahari and Drakensberg, lived the last 6 years here in Asia.

If Korea has been beaten by the french at war, no wonder they feel so inferior.

No one loses to the french. Do they?
