Tech stuff used to have some resale value.....still seems like it should to folks outside the loop. However, with prices of newer (although mediocre) stuff falling, buying used is almost pointless, save perhaps the odd bit or piece.
Really, why would anyone buy a used system? The deals are just smoking on new stuff these days. Say what you want about new tech...it sure does push down prices for the 6 month to year-old stuff. |

i'm going to yongsan soon to have something put together, and would also know if you could give me directions to the store where you bought your goods.

I didn't buy that computer -- I helped a friend.
Pentium IV 2.8 ghz processor
512 meg ram
DVD/RW CD/RW combo
Case
keyboard, etc.
That place is on the sixth floor on the south middle part of the back wall, but there are similar places all over. |

Some guy has this ad for a Fujutsi laptop on English Spectrum...
SPESIFICATION;
650 MHZ,128 RAM,30 GB
CD ROM,USB 2 PORTS,WINDOW XP.CARRY BAG 420.000
A lot of you know more about computers than I do, but I would think that this isn't worth much more than 100,000 won. My laptop is 3 1/2 years old, and it's a 1.3 Ghz with 512 MB of RAM, and I don't think mine is worth more than a couple of hundred dollars.
What do you think a good asking price for this Fujutsi would actually be? |

I'd need to know the model, but based on what I see there I'm surprised it can even run XP. I wouldn't buy it at any price, but if someone just wanted a beater for word processing and surfing I guess 100 or so would be okay. |

I think the best way to establish a fair market value for anything is to put it up for auction. Geography also pays a large part in market value. For example if an item is relatively difficult to acquire then it may warrant a higher sale price. Obviously this doesn't apply to computer equipment which is abundant in Korea. Another factor that many old-timers forget is that alot of the services offered to Koreans are difficult or impossible to access for newbs. Sure it's easy to use online shopping if your husband or wife is korean but it's not so straight forward for new arrivals. Things are alot better than the old days but there's still a long way to go in terms of services for foreigners in Korea. Anyways, that's just my 20 won.
Cheers,
