|
|
I am in a summer camp at the moment, and the teachers get to take the kids for a 'special lesson' to teach them something out of the ordinary through English. Some teachers are taking them cooking, or doing a science project etc...
I was thinking that I could take them to the computer lab and perhaps get them to play an online game through English. To start with I'd go through some simple 'game vocab' with them so that they could interact with the game themselves.
The kids are aged between 7 and 14, from lower to intermediate level. So my question is ... does anyone have any good games suggestions ??? |

Hmm something with a free trial
www.miniclip.com has some games which might be interesting for you, puzzle pirates is one i've been toying with.
I dunno thtat they'd care too much about the english tho, its something u'd have to be pretty picky on. Have them answer questions on certain aspects of the game for example |

thanks blunder,
in the end I went with some cool games that were on www.playkidsgames.com. There was a good mix of games on there for a range of levels, just thought I'd let everybody know in case they were interested. |

| Check out Voice of America www.voanews.com but it may be better for your 14 year olds |

I'd recommend:
http://games.lynms.edu.hk/index.php
It has literally hundreds of games - some vocab based such as hangman or wordsearches; some with a more deeper social meaning slant to them.
The index is in Chinese, but if you click the links, you can soon find your way through the various categories and sublinks. |

| http://www.manythings.org is a website used at the camp I'm at. It has simple hangman, and well, many things! The kids love it (ages 10-13) |
