Ebert and Roeper say it really stinks. They mentioned that Jessica is exceptionally bad and is rarely in it. It appears, they said, that her scenes had to be cut out.

As someone who HAS seen it, I thought it was awesome. I laughed constantly, got a kick out of Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson (both of which had major parts and were frequnetly seen), and thought the car chases were great.
What many people fail to realize is that this is the f'ing Dukes of Hazzard.
As someone else said, they are not going for an oscar, they're trying to make an enjoyable movie for their core audience- guys 14-28 and people who appreciate a good moon pie. Both of which this guy from West Virginia is.
If you'd rather enjoy critically acclaimed movies with plots so thick it takes a chainsaw to cut through them, and characters with so much emotional depth you want to smack the hell out of them and tell them to quit whining...then go watch the lifetime network. Dukes of Hazzard is good fun for those who appreciate a movie trying to be fun.
EDIT: Oh and Jessica Simpson is in ALOT of the movie, if they cut her scenes they didn;t do them at the cam version I saw.

I realize it- I never saw more than half an episode of the tv show when it was free every week, so I'm not about to fork over $9 for what is- best case- a mildly entertaining mindless waste of 90 min. How other people want to spend their money is up to them.

It's directed by Jay Chandresekhar so I'll be watching the absolute first chance I get.

All the negative reviews only encourage me because they said the same things about Super Troopers.

It's not a lock though because the critics were right about Club Dread sucking.

Anyway, can't wait to give it a shot.

For what it's worth i'd be interested in hearing your comments after you hand over your $$$ & go see the movie Shocked

As a little sidenote here, who knows what the Dukes were originally slated to be running in the TV series ???

Hint: It wasn't moonshine !!!

Oh yah ... Willie Nelson has also got a bit part in the movie as Uncle Jesse. Ironic. Only thing is it's too bad they didn't actually have the balls to stick to the original storyline. Here of course i'm assuming dem good ol' Duke boyz are still running heaps of homebrew hootch all through Hazzard county.

Sadly it just isn't the buzz many were hoping for Wink

Well, the producers seem to know all too well kids back home are suckers for anything that they believe is from the late 70's to mid 80's. It was so hilarious to see many of them try so hard to look like a cross between Vinni Babarino, Jeff Spicoli and John Bender.

Wille must of been smoking some serious stuff when he took that role.

I was watching "Talking Movies" on BBC World this week and you could see the presenter cringing the entire time he had to talk about the movie and the interview he had to do with Jessica.

Is it showing in Seoul, or will it be? I haven't seen or heard anything.
