So do you guys just type the coordinates in and let the program find it or do you scroll around the earth looking? I do the latter as it's a bit more fun for me. Just curious. |
Little of both. |
Same here... usually scroll around to get the general area then type the coordinates to get specific.

I think that it is the statue known as Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado Mountain.
If I am correct, here are the new coordinates:
37d 31' 53.77" N 126d 54' 51.81" E |

By Jove, it's right smack in the middle of the dome of the national assembly building!
I think this might be a stumper, but everyone is so good at this game I'm probably wrong:

highlight then right click and choose copy, or highlight and then ctrl + c.
in the google earth bar, right click and select 'paste' or ctrl + v.
You can get coordinates for some places in Wikipedia but it's a good idea to test them first.
A clue for my coordinates: rubber boots. |

Although the fighting mostly took place in Braine-l'Alleud and the surrounding areas, history commemorates it under the name of the "Battle of Waterloo" with its monument, the "Butte du Lion" (the Lion's Mound). The actual battlefield lies at about 5 Km south of the city, in the nearby village of Mont-Saint-Jean. |

I guess the coordinates are the battlefield about 5 K from the city.
Where to next Krats?
(Off topic: As a kid I used to love playing mini golf here: 42 d 53' 47" N 79 d 37' 13" W) |

I was watching Leno's Jaywalking tonight and he asked 5 or 6 people including 2 college students what the address for the White House was. "1600" and "Pennsylvania" were not in any of the answers (They were all variations on "#1 White House road"). |

Well, I only know that's not the 2 things I know of in India- the Sikh Golden Temple and the Taj Mahal. The area looks pretty cool from satellite and I'm guessing dates back at least to British colonial era...
Uh, Maharajah's palace or monument?
Gandhi monument? Gandhi's tomb?
Indira Gandhi's tomb?
I'm out of guesses so going with Gandhi's tomb. |

It is part of what the British left behind there yes. It isn't a tomb but a monument of some kind. Does the street layout remind you of anywhere else in the world more familiar? If so, what might you find slap bang in the middle of such an arrangement? |
