I'll be arriving in Seoul to work for SMOE on August 21st with a one-way ticket and my E-2 Visa in my passport.
Is this right, or shall I change my plane ticket to a return before I go?
Cheers. |

if you've got the visa already, you'll be fine. |

Actually, what about the Korean Embassy here in the UK? I have to take my 'Visa confirmation letter' to the Embassy to get my E2 - will they require a return ticket or is that not an issue for the Embassy at all?
Thanks again.
Sorry if these appear dumb questions to some of you, but I'm just starting out and want to have every silly little thing covered. |

No you'll just need your passport, visa confirmation, passport pics and some $. No onward ticket needs to be shown when you apply for the visa. |

Hi, when I got mine I think I paid between £25 - £30 but that was about two years ago, so it will probably have gone up by now. |

Everytime I've come to Korea it has been on a one-way ticket. Korean immigration has never said a word about it.
However, I've been harassed at the ticket counter by the airline people when I check-in for my flight. You see, you're generally supposed to have a round-trip ticket and if immigration turns you away because of that, then the airline is at fault and must fly you back.
The first time, the airline let me board only after seeing my Chinese visa and me swearing I was leaving by ferry.
The next time required a supervisor's ok as I told them that as a visa holder I didn't need a RT ticket.
This most recent time, I called Incheon Airport Immigration beforehand, asked them (yes, it is ok if you have the visa), and got a name and phone number just in case. So of course, they didn't even ask this time. |
