Do you think that a bar should be held liable for what its patrons do when they leave? |

Ah yes, this from the same type of morons that want to hold gun companies liable for crimes comitted with their products or cigarette companies responsible for people stupid enough to smoke getting sick.
What the courts are doing is taking away individuals being responsible for their own actions. Let's take the McDonald's case. Why shouldn't the woman sue the manfacturer of the cup (and lid) or the automobile manfacturer for not making a cupholder more available to her. Next thing you know people will be suing McDonald's for making them fat. Oh wait, they've already tried. |

If the gun companies are knowingly distributing to dealers whose guns just happen to make up a sizable majority of the guns used to commit crimes.... what do you think the solution is? Lawsuits can force the companies to assume responsibility -- without having to pass new laws and regulations.
Rarely mentioned in the lawsuit debate is the fact that the vast, vast majority of suits are filed by one corporation against another. Breach of contract-type stuff. People suing McDonald's aren't clogging up our legal system.
To get back the OP... I don't like the idea of drunk drivers, etc., suing the bars they drank at. But I could imagine circumstances in which I might want to see the victim or victim's family sue the bar. |

If certain dealers sales made up a "sizable majority of the guns used to commit crimes.." one would think the police would have more than just a passing interest in the place. At least enough to come up with their own solutions. Especially since most police officers are not looking to get shot at. |

the morons who file these frivolous lawsuits should pay all the court and attorney costs when the cases are thrown out of court...
that'd put an end to 'em |

McDonald's coffee should have come with the label "May cause injury if not handled properly" (like fireworks, for instance). Then, this never would have been an issue. |
