Thanks Flag. Though I called a Marine recruiter last night and asked if there's a chance I could go active marine (I'm nearly 35!) and he said it's possible and made an appointment for me at a US embassy abroad. Perhaps the recent news headlines regarding recruiters falling short of their quotas (for obvious reasons) has something to do with it!

Wow, good luck! I was in the Navy but we didn't get along. I'm not militarily inclined no matter what promises I make. After that, I pulled an internship with the most elite fighting force known to man. That would be the US Public Health Service. A force even more exclusive than the US Coast Guard. I wore my officer uniform to Sand Point Naval Station just to make people salute me and it really does give you an erection. Good luck!

Why in the hell would you want to join the Navy when you could join the Marine Corps? Forget OCS, be a Marine NCO and be a badass...

All the whining and complaining about the little things I read, I got the impression that there are a lot of wussies here at the forum. Now, one of you want to join the military at the age of 32. Boy, your life must be really meaningless/ Rolling Eyes

Sand Point Naval Station in Washington? There hasn't been a base at that location in many years; it was mothballed a long, long time ago, ~ 1995 How old are you? When I was in the Army, on leaves I would come home and shop at a commissory there.
