I was watching Smallville (season 3, episode 11) and there was a really cool hard drive thing. It was external, and it seemed like hard drives could be plugged in or out just like an oversized floppy disk.
Does such a thing really exist (been googling but haven't found anything) and if it does, what is it called? |

beaver....a USB enclosure? Yeah...they exist and can be swappaed in and out of any USB post.
There are also internal "cages" with IDE (or SATA) connectors, so one can in effect slide the cage in and out of the case. The drive goes in the cage and is connected, then is slid into a case and wired up with a power lead and connector. |
