I was watching Korean TV at the gym today and I saw
a part of a commercial for these suction cups that suck
out the bad blood in your system. This really makes sense
because bad blood causes disease and it is warmer than
healthy blood, hence it will rise. You then simply attach
a set of these suckers to you and voila, the bad blood is
gone. Do I get these in a Pharmacy? I haven't seen them. |

ha ha. Looks like you're looking to get a rise out of more than just your bad blood. ha ha. Nice one. |

Are you talking about those Chinese medicine things?
I turned over on my foot about a month ago, and went into this shop, and he sucked blood out of my foot with a glassish cup.
Very strangee. |

You get them from your local Middle-Ages barber... or your local Korean quack doctor supply store.
Why don't you take ibuprofen instead of relying on medieval treatments of dubious value? |

Phlebotomy cups haven't been popular in the US for a long time, probably because George Washington died 24 hours after being drained of 9 pints of blood.
Unless someone has a gangrenous limb, or suffers from diseases like
hemochromatosis and polycythemia, there is no therapeutic benefit in having blood sucked out one's body.

Are those the ones that make the "hickey" marks on your neck or back?
If so, you can buy them at e-mart near the humidifiers and massage chairs. |

I didn't check your link, but I do have my own weird little "han-yak" experience...
A lot of folks in my family have Reynaud's Syndrome. Basically, your hands and feet lose circulation, go numb, sometimes even turn blue. It's associated with stress, and unhealthy lifestyles, particularly smoking.
My grandfather almost lost his feet in WW2 because of it. 
So it was my first year here, I'd be in the middle of teaching, and my toes would start getting needles and pins - quite painful. I'd take off my shoes and massage my feet in the middle of class even, to no avail.
In North America, treatment involves fiddling with major nerves in your spine.... no thankyou!
So I go to the Oriental medical hospital, and with a combination of electric acupuncture 2x a week for a month, then once a week for a month, then maybe a handful of times since then - it's just gone and hasn't come back.... well, traces of it now and then, but if I go back to the clinic, it goes away.
The part I HATE though is when the doc takes a lancet and pierces the end of each of my toes and squeezes out a few drops of blood. It seems to work, though.
Funnily enough, Acupuncture is covered for this syndrome under Ontario Health Care.... Not for much else... never had the chance to try out an acupuncturist in Canada.

Really?! I also have Reynaud's Syndrome, most of the females in my family do also, and it sounds whiny to complain about it (at least my boyfriend says so) - and my family just has the attitude that you suffer through it.
The only thing that works for my hands is running them under hot water for a few minutes, even in the summer time, because they are FREEZING and I can't feel them.
Simone, what's the appx cost of having the treatments done at an Oriental Clinic? If it's affordable, I might try it. |

I know what you mean - to me, it qualifies as chronic pain - everyday, nagging pain... The worst of it for me was when I'd wake up in the middle of the night because my toes were throbbing with pins and needles. No nuisance syndrome is gonna disturb MY sleep! 
My guy has a clinic near Chongno 5-Ga, and it used to cost me about 8,000 won a pop. Almost free. Normal medical insurance covered much of it.
Let me look for his card so I can plug him.... Okay - his name is Dr. Lee Pil Rae, and it's at 02-762-7119
It's been a few years since I was there - can't go now because my work is too far away. His english is good, not perfect, but he's got a big friendly smile. When I show up there, his first question is "How much time do you have?" because he'll fill it with one treatment, then another treatment, then another. He'll remember me having Reyaunds too, but I don't know if he'll know the name.

| I had that done to me once. I didn't notice any difference, although I believe it is mostly psychological. |
