|

I want to know what happens if immigration catches you doing something not in your visa. I would like to know if there are any F2 visa people given an exit order or deported. I think it never happens to people with a F2 visa. They are always fined or given a lecture. Does anyone know a case where the F2 visa person was seriously punished?
They can't legally deny a visa if you meet the requirements. I think they also never deny the F2 visa without justifiable proveable reasons. The sponser must meet the requirements.
Does anyone have real information about this? |

I never say never but...
I'm pretty sure they can't.
I suppose they could deny a renewal though. |

As long as you and your spouse do nothing criminal, I think you're good. I've never heard of someone being deported on an F2, and E2 visa holders working illegally(privately) may remain in the country (after the fine is paid). If you are really worried about it, get the new workplace added to your visa, or have your spouse call immi (NOT FROM YOUR HOUSE PHONE OR MOBILE), and ask. If it bothers you that much, don't work outside your visa. It's a sucky set of rules, but the ones we must play by to stay and feel secure here.
Note: Just advice, not concrete, undeniable fact!! |

Sorry but that is not true. E-2 visa holders caught teaching illegally are fined and deported. It is not one or the other.
F-2 visa holders are not deported by they are fined (just as heavily) and could be denied a new visa when the time comes. |

Why not? You are still a foreign national breaking the law. It is probably policy to not deport you, but I hardly think an F2 visa is a get out jail free card.
Additionally I would imagine that repeated violations would make renewing your F2 visa increasingly difficult. |

it depends on the individual situation |

Well, Wylde,
There might be exceptions. But the law is that you get fined and deported if you get caught teaching illegal lessons with undeclared income.
There might be exceptions (like the two people you heard about). Mitigating circumstances might be the reason there.
However, normal procedure is fine and deportation. |

so if your married to a korean, F2, and get caught doing tutors or something, then the norm is a fine the first time??? i cant see then kicking you out if your wife is a korean. but i guess, like above posters said, each case WOULD be different. case by case. if you only get fined, geeez. its kinda like a free pass. |

Not really. It's a matter of human rights. Simply put, breaking up a family because of a minor visa infraction would be a great injustice, and a public relations nightmare. |

Exit orders are given when a person is caught teaching illegally when on a tourist visa or to E2 visa holders when a revisit to one's degree shows that it's fake.
Exit orders are rarely given when a person is teaching illegally when they have an E2 visa and no other issues. Usually it's just a fine (500,000~1M) and a stern warning not to do it again. I don't know of anyone deported for working outside of their E2 visa though I know of many people who have paid the fine and stayed in the country. |

I think the poster was referring to deporting an F2 visa holder, thus causing the family strife, kids or not. |
