All things being equal, this isn't a wholly & in every respect welcome development from where I sit. I've typically had that Immigration Annex Office in Gwanghwa-moon (I guess it's technically Sejongno) all to myself whenever I've needed something, from re-entry permits to various other certificates and stamps. The staff were a fairly laid-back, kicked-back crew every time I've gone in. Had that calm, easygoing composure when dealing with weygookins that you'll often see in older gyopos. I'd truly hate to see them become all gruff and surly, and develop that hard-edged, cougar-assed attitude like the gang down in the Mok-dong swamps.
Oh, and if they're seriously thinking of handling all visa procedures there for all foreigners living closer to central Seoul than to Mok-dong, they'd better take over a few floors in that building. That one smallish office (where I've never once had to wait to see a clerk) is about 1/5 the size it'll need to be. |

| Me too and I live in Southern Kangnam which I suppose might be closer, though if you are driving Omokgyo is marginally quicker. I was hoping they were opening an office in Kangnam! |

For those of us who didn't get the letter, what did it say? What services are now available there?
Thanks |

Who lives "in the norther part of Hanriver"? Genetically deformed fish? Foreign ones on work visas?
"high investor"! What, are they going to test my wee-wee to make sure?
"except for the Chinese"... I like that.
"Jonglo-gu"?? |

| I like the way they notify us in August that they began these services in June. That actually would have been helpful to have known at the time. |

I think it took them 2 months to produce that splendiferous translation. Actually, it is impressive by the standards of the Immigration Office. Though it lacks the familiar 'IO snarl' of their postcard-sized period of sojourn renewal notices. ("Please be aware that you have no hope of escaping any punishments you've got coming to you. " or words to that effect) |
