I've gotten them before. Usually once a week (both home and on the cell). I would recommend having a Korean friend call (assuming you aren't fluent in Korean) and see if you can have your number privatized.

Go into your carrier. I'm pretty sure that they can put filters on your number so most of that crap is blocked. Bring your phone with you and show them the culprits.

You probably can block them out with your cell phone. Mine has a spam list.

Are you freaking kidding me? I was getting threatening harrassing phone calls from this one customer two three times a day for weeks.

"You fucking cock sucking piece of shit. Your mother is a fucking *beep* and your wife is too. I am going to come there and shit down your throat. You are a bastard and a fat piece of shit that has no life." And she would throw around a couple more bastards for good measure.

All of this from a woman who is a Phd student in Busan. The phone company would not do a damn thing about it.

So I politely told her:

Actually, I can't say it. It involved a homeless fellow, money and a broom stick.

She has not called since.

Don't expect any help from the phone company. Change your number.

I don't think the OP was referring to a harrassing phone call from an acquaintance/customer. You should've had your number changed...or maybe had the cops look into it(yeah, right). Or threatened her pitiful life or something. What did you do to piss her off so much...and where did she get such wonderful English?

Anyway, at one point in time I was with SK Telecom and I was getting about ten crap messages a day. My wife went in and spoke with them on two separate occasions and the numbers dropped to maybe one or two a week. These days, it does seem that I'm getting more of those automated calls as well and I think it's time to go into the phone company again.
