Anyone know of an E-Mart or Carrefour near a subway station in Daegu? I hate Lotte Department Stores so much I'd even go to a Wal-Mart. |

Just did a quick search and there is one in Dong-gu Shin-seo dong.. not sure if that's next to a subway station?
Carrefour is in Seo-gu Naedang. According to the website, you get line 2 to Naedang. |

Thanks - when line 2 finally opens I'll have to check out the Carrefour. It's surprisingly difficult to find a cheap department store or supermarket in Daegu. |

I passed by that Carrerfour yesterday on the way home from work. I forget if it's along the subway route (for sure on a bus route), since I just moved into the city on Saturday. |

I know of three E-marts in Daegu. Out of the 3 I know, only one is on the subway line.
1) Close to Manchon Junction. If you live close to this area (in Susung-gu), just hop in a cab and say Manchon Emart-uh
2) In Seong-seo. Same as above..get in a cab
3) On the 2nd last subway stop going east. I cannot remeber the name of the stop, but definately the 2nd last on the east part of the city. Quite a distance away.
4 (maybe) Also, my coworker just told me there is one close to Daegu station (not dong-Daegu). I know Daegu station is on the subway line, but I'm not familiar with where that E-Mart is. It might be a good idea to get in a cab when at Daegu station.
Good luck!! |

Carrefours is one block north of DONGCHON SUBWAY STATION.
exit the station via the same exit for "renaissance wedding hall". i recall using exit 2...but don't count on it. just look for the little unofficial paper signs in the station directing to "renaissance wedding hall"
walk out of that exit and continue straight down the street to the intersection.
turn right at the intersection, walk past the wedding hall (very modern glass building) and you'll see Carrefours one block down on the other side of the street.
as for Emart, there are none really close to ANY subway station until the new subway line gets going. the Manchon Dong Emart is within 15minutes walk of DONGDAEGU SUBWAY STATION. but navigation is a little tricky through back streets. a cab will get you there for minimum charge. there is no Emart near DAEGU STATION. |

There is a Homeplus just down the street from Daegu Station. Go out the back entrance (in the waiting area look for the overhead yellow sign that says "Metro" among other things). At the bottom of the exit, turn right 90%, walk through the parking lot. When you get to the first long street, turn left, keep walking until you reach a large 4-lane street. Then turn right. Five minute walk down that street. |
