Going in two weeks, any good suggestions where to go out, best things to do, great restaurant recommendations? Anyone had that supposedly deadly blowfish? Want to try it.....Quoting the Simpsons: "Poison, poison, poison, ah! Tasty fish!" |

I think you can eat deadly blowfish here in Korea. I remember some hooligan foreigners who did it for a kick and said it kept them hyper-awake for a day and some. This was in Kwangju. |

A week in Tokyo.. interesting.
Where are you staying? What kind of prices were you able to find for that?
Would be fun to explore that city for a week.. albeit expensive. |

Sorry, never been to Tokyo but if you want the poison fish just go to a 'swellfish' restaurant in one of the port towns and you should be able to find it. I always thought they were just mispronouncing and mispelling shellfish, but I was wrong |

there are loads of restaurants behind the Seokyo hotel in Hongdae that seem to sell that kind of fish. I wanted to try it but then saw Anthony Bourdain eating it on a TV show and he said that apart from the thrill factor it was very bland. Normally he raves about everything so that really put me off.
Anyway Tokyo- I was only there for a weekend and went around a lot of uni student/ fashion shopping street type places. No real recommendations except to say that if you're going for a night on the booze it pays to do as much research about where you're going as possible as the some clubs are (deliberately) hard to find |

i went last month with my sister...we pretty much just shopped and shopped and went to disneyland.
can i recommend a great place to stay? it was $60 a night for both of us or $45 for single with private bath. room comes with tea, too! very nice people - and you can reserve online. it's right near UENO subway station - near Asakusa - great shopping and a famous temple.

Hey Mount Real,
Funnily enough I'm moving to Jeonju next week from Tokyo where I've spent the last 4 years. PM me with any specific questions about Tokyo. Are you still in Jeonju? If so anything you wish you'd known about the place before moving there? Any suggestions for a Newb to the city?
Cheers,
