my dvd player has been acting strange lately. I put in a dvd and starts out working fine. Then the playback starts to skip, stick etc. I then put the dvd into my dvd drive on my computer and it plays fine.
what gives? My player is only 2 years old and I don't want to buy a new one so soon. |

| Maybe try one of those lens cleaning disks. If that doesn't work, you're probably SOL. Good luck. |

think I'm SOL. tried the cleaning disk and still got the same problem. Whats wierd is I've been burning espisodes of the Sopranos and playing them and all is fine, went through 3 eps yesterday no probs. I have though had this problem with other dvds I've burned.
well techno mart isn't far and the prices sure have come down, 60k at carrefour.
any recs for a decent one? |

I had exactly the same problem with my DVD player.
I don't have a solution just some pointers you may or may not have considered.
Don't burn onto cheap disks. Your burner docs may recommend a disk to use. Mine recommends LG disks. I have never had a problem with them. I had almost a 50% problem rate with cheap discs.
Use the DVD cleaner but also clean the disc and the tray the disc sits on.
Get a video card to hook up your PC to the TV. The DVD software has better features than your DVD player and clicking is easier than a remote. LOL
My ATI 9600x has 256 MB and 8Xagp. That may be overkill but I can surf or play a game and play a movie onto my TV. |
