We've exhausted as many field trip ideas as I can come with. Indoor playground, picnic in the park, water games and fountain activities, movies theater, shopping at the supermarket, etc etc etc.

Do any of you have any cool ideas for field trips babysitting little elementary kids.

I know of someone who took his kindergarteners on a trip to their local fire station. Maybe you could do that?

There are quite a few plays and shows in small theatres for children. The ones I've always been to have been on one of the upper levels of a Kim's Club or Carrefour building. There is one at the Banpo Kim's Club 9if you're in Seoul).

One year my school went to a old temple/palace place, one of the big ones in Seoul, and they ran a children's program, where the kids got to dress up in old clothes and things, and learned proper bows and "social graces" - I'm not sure exactly what the deal was because there was a seperate activity for the teachers in a different room. We went right before Chuseok so they could learn some things for the holiday. I'm sure if you put forth the idea, one of the Koreans in your school could do the research to find a place that has something like this??

Regardless, some of the larger palaces and fortesses are good for tours.

Children's Grand Park is good for a day outing, always lots to see and do, again if you're not in Seoul, there must be similar zoos in other parts of the country?

COEX Aquiarium? The War Museum in Itaewon - the kids loved looking at the old airplanes.

As it gets closer to Chuseok, there are usually places where the kids can make tteok or song-pyeon? Again, someone would have to look into it for you.

Other than that, I'm drawing a blank....one school I worked at took a field trip EVERY week, so that was 52 places I've seen...I wish I could remember more of the good ones, but unfortunately, more of the really crappy ones are sticking in my mind right now ... sorry.

We went to the ice rink....that was pretty cool fun for the littlies, they seem to pick it up in minutes

Judging by the mascots, it would seem the prison would be a great place for the little 'uns.

go to Gwangmyeon KTX station. It's empty and big. great place to learn about things there.
