				| My partner and I are planning to spend a year in Korea. She has a masters degree and is planning to teach ESL. I have a two year college diploma so teaching is not an option for me. It has been suggested to me that I could get a six month tourist visa and then pick up tutoring jobs. Are there any legal issues around this that I should be aware of? Also, how easy/difficult is it to get a tourist visa renewed for another six months? What would be involved? | |

				| Yeah, the issue is that its totally illegal to work on a tourist visa. Also, it is illegal to do privates. So, those are the issues | |

				| You should be able to get spose visa if you are married. Many have this here.Teaching on the side is a risk of course despite this many do it.
If you come on a tourist visa then you can catch the hydrofoil to Japan from Busan and depending on your nationality you can get a new tourist visa on arrival back in Korea.

The other option is to study here at a university. If you do this then you are allowed nowadays to teach for so many hours per week on the side on your student visa.
