A sign of things to come?

Muslim party seeks Islamic law for Australians
Patricia Karvelas
September 06, 2005

THE leader of the nation's first Muslim political party says all Australians should be living under Islamic law dictated by the Koran.

The Best Party of Allah in Australia applied for registration in the ACT yesterday, claiming to provide a political voice for Muslims.

Founder Kurt Kennedy, a Vietnamese-born Muslim convert and candidate in the ACT assembly elections last year, said the party wanted to "implement the laws as stated in the Koran".

"The positive part of sharia law is (about) treating everybody fairly,"

Except of course, Jews, Christians, Women, Gays, Atheists, Hindus, Bhuddists, and so on, and so on. Hard to believe that anyone could say that with a straight face.

As the muslim population in the West grows, such political parties, that seek to overthrow the very freedoms and institutions we cherish, will surely grow in number.

is the guy who dressed up as a toilet and stood on his street corner yelling "vote for me and i'll flush corruption" a sign of things to come?

ANYONE with enough votes can get party status.

This is only a news item because they're muslim.
that's it.

Plus, it's pretty hard to imagine that they're serious about winning seats. The ONLY people who would vote for them would be Muslims, and not even ALL Muslims. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but Australia has a first-past-the-post constituency system, right? Are there ANY constituencies with a Muslim majority electorate?

Marion Boyd is pushing to get Shariah law recognised in Ontario.

Shariah law is for the near-human population.

No, it is because this is a case of a minority group openely stating that they want to overturn Western liberal democracy and replace it with Islamic Law. I can't think of any examples of Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Chinese or any minority group proposing such ideas. It is yet another example of the fact that many muslims have no intention of integrating into the West, or accepting Western norms and values. It is likely that as the muslim population in the West increases dramatically, there will be more of these groups calling for Sharia Law.

The guy dressed up as a toilet protesting corruption is hardly a threat to democracy, secularism and women's rights. Shariah Law, on the other hand, certainly is.

This case is actually more pertinent in regards to Europe, where in 50 or so years time, a muslim majority could become a reality, if current trends continue. I'm not sure about Australia, but it is quite close to the largest muslim country in the world, and has a rapidly growing, and poorly assimilated muslim population.

If they are so keen on Shariah, why did they choose to live in the West?

They'll probably go the way of One Nation.
They have every right to campaign on whatever platform they want.
Not going to get a decent vote though.

Deport the lot of them.

If they don't want to follow our way of life- Or it's not good enough for them. There is the door- Go back to where you came from and you can have Islamic law up to your eye balls.

Some interesting (or frightening?) information regarding muslim population growth in Australia:-

The most recent Australian Census in 2001 revealed a remarkable rate of growth in Australia's Muslim population. The Census listed 281 576 Australian Muslims, an increase of some 40 per cent in five years, while the Australian population as a whole only grew by 5.7 per cent in the same period.

http://www.dfat.gov.au/facts/islam_in_australia.html

Of course, the growth of the muslim population in Europe has been even more dramatic and is likely to have more far reaching, and possibly catastrophic effects, unless the issue is addressed honestly.
