I was told today that I have to attend a meeting in Suwon on Friday afternoon until 6.

Anyone else hear about this or know what it's about?

...I was also told today that I had to go to the Education Ministry meeting on Friday. My English department head honcho - from what I could understand of his broken English - said that over 170 teachers would be "affected," but I don't know if they will all attend this Friday's meeting or be divided into smaller groups.

Yep. I found out yesterday (Wednesday) that I have to attend.

Anyone know what to expect? I asked my director what it's about and she had no clue.

From the little information that I've gotten we're all about to have to do model classes for the goverment people and other teachers. Mine is scheduled for October 18th. Apparently this meeting is to tell us what to expect, etc. I don't really understand how that could fill that many hours worth of meeting though.

My school told me nothing so it's classes as usual for me. I also managed to slip out of the open class for this year. Woooohoo. Still post what went down as I'm sure we will all be interested.

Yea, I was waiting to hear something today, but never happened. Too late to tell me now. Woohoo, I'll be coming home from work, cracking open a beer, watching a little NFL football.

So does anybody know if it is a part of GEPIK or does it include everybody who works in the public schools in Gyeonggi-do? I have heard nothing about it yet so I'm going drinking tomo after work!
