I'm probably starting an MA in applied linguistics from Macquarie University in Australia next year. Its all online and costs just over 10 000 bucks Aussie for Aussies like myself and from memory about double if you're not.

When I did my Visa run to Japan, I met a Canadian woman at the consulate who did her master's online through macquarrie - she said it cost her like practically nothing and she said it got her a sweet job at a university that includes FOUR months of paid vacation a year. And she wasn't even a native speaker - French Canadian, accent and all, from northern Ontario. Something I definitely intend to look into.

For a compiled list of accredited distance master's degrees check here:

http://bain4weeks.com/mastermenu.html

Another good list is at:

http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Haven/2386/distance.html

And the University of Birmingham has a distance program M.A. in TEFL which has a cohort learning program here in Korea (although which university in Korea that offers the cohort, I cannot remember). Check here:

http://www.bham.ac.uk/course.asp?section=1000000100020004

you might also want to check out www.degreeinfo.com for recommendations.

Hope that can be of some help

Yea, I think getting a Masters will be relatively easy. I am looking into continuing on with a PhD. It doesnt look like its going to happen over here since I refuse to go with the University of Phoenix or something like that. Maybe I can start one here and finish in the States. Well, at least I can dream.

This got me thinking; does Korea accept online degrees. I know they have been cracking down on those fake ones, but do they accept something like the University of Phoenix?

I too am looking into this. Anyone have an update. I really want to find one that will be accepted in Canada, and thus allow me to do my PHD when I return.
