I have what is commonly known to Koreans as "ajumma disease" Shocked The skin, basically on the tips of my fingers, is wicked dry, peeling off, and SOOOO itchy. Apparently it is due to the water irritating my skin, and is common among women who do a lot of cleaning (hence, "ajumma disease"). The pharmacist gave me some cream, but it's not working. Anybody else have this problem? This is the first time this has happened to me. I clean a lot, but I wear rubber gloves. Maybe it's New House Syndrome....

I think in your case it's "Get the fiance off his trifling lazy ass and have him help you" disease.

Sorry about the fingers, girl. Hope everything else is faring out better...

My kid sister who's a kayak instructor, had the same thing going on. I believe she got some cortizone cream from the doctor, and wrapped bandages around her fingers after she applied it.

Also consider the possibility of a fungal infection. This happens also on the toes, and is basically a fungal infection around the nails.

seems you have typical 'ֺν housewives' eczema'-thats what Koreans called. you can buy (banjil) cream at any pharmacy and apply that cream on your fingers before going to bed at night. it definitely works.

I wouldn't say it's amazing. It's just a regular glycerine hand lotion, not unlike Neutrogena's Norwegian hand cream. But it's not a bad buy considering the fact a much smaller tube of Neutrogena sells for 6000 won or so. I bought my tube of hemp lotion for 14000 won a few years ago, and it isn't half used.
