Whew, that's a relief. Thanks.
For a moment there I was afraid I may have stumbled into some kind of morass of free discussion! There's no knowing where that sort of nonsense might lead. |

peemil, just be careful of what cult you join. With some, you end up getting sent to Iraq. |

And be equally careful you don't join the ones that encourage the beheading and blowing-up of Western aid workers, Korean missionaries, engineers, sanitary technicians, etc. |

What about the Moonies? You are here in the land of its birth. Who knows, you might have a talent for selling flowers at Incheon International. |

Now you're talking! Moonies. Funny types. It's a church here, sure. But it's seen as a business enterprise more than anything else by non-Moonie Koreans. Not a cult, per se, but so many independent nominally Christian churches in Korea are cults in everything but name. My second-in-charge foreman's son is starting his own, aiming at 300,000 "believers" (that's apparently the make-or-break number). Real slick fellow. He's done marketing studies, created business models, and is in pre-launch contract negotiations with close-circuit TV broadcasters (relayers?) ... testing the waters and all. Most of his "believers" will be "tuning him in" every Sunday at designated "churches" around the country, yada yada. Certainly a lot different from our old chapel on the hill with its centuries-old tombstones (including some of the Guru's ancestors') beside it. Korean churches are like Korean political parties. Entirely built around the man. |

There's some good advice here.
- Christianity- Can't do that one. Unless they let me get stuck into the wine every Sunday.
- Euthanasia one sounds good, but I'm not keen on existing stage right. I just want to have some fun, do some prayers and maybe hook up with the Pastor's missus.
- If I join the Moonies, will there be kimchi?

What can I say? It has been a very slow Sunday.
I gotta go back to work tomorrow after a long vacation. Just thought I'd use the rest of my time well.
Either way... If Daves was a cult, who would be Jesus, for lack of a better character, and who would be the discipiles?
In fact, we'll change the thread. If Dave's was a cult or a religious movement who would best represent a diety.
For example, Peppermint would be that Greek God of lust who got everyone going.
Wylde would be a particularly interesting Buddha.
Rapier could be Oden.
You get my point.
I gotta go and put the monkeys back in their cages and feed the buffalo before bed.
See ya. |

What a great idea. Sparkles would surely be Loki and our own beloved Kwangjuchicken would be The Oracle. However, I would imagine that discerning the future from chicken entrails would be right out.
Can Mith be Jesus? |

I think Wylde could be Baccus.
(Gee, I do have a good Buddha costume. . . ) |

That would be my choice. |

Too many worries and concerns.
So, I thought to myself. Why not join a religious cult? Sounds good. You get your meals, you're taken care of and some of them hand around the ol' girls like there is no tomorrow.
Anyone got any suggestions? |
If this thread had been started by jajdude, then maybe I'd take it seriously (though he might not the morning after).

Hey Peemil. Have you noticed that when someones starts a cute litttle thread to help brighten and cheer up the lives of those who come to this forum, there is always someone (usually the same 3 or 4) that just have to go and ruin it.?
I think we have a few members at the forum whose name must be:
Ron Moore. |

I recommend the Church of Hakwonium. We at the Church of Hakwonium pray to the benevolent Wongjamin Sejong-Il so that in His Divine Unfailingness he may send us fodder...um...i mean children to malform--err, educate--in the mysterious ways of the English language.
And further, it is our plea, that we be renumerated adequately- dare we say generously-for our bountiful qualifications, particularly our ability to refrain from homicidal thoughts except on alternating Tuesdays and Sundays.
Amenee. |
