I've gotten all the paper work ready to work on my wife's permanent residency papers. Just one question. The check list asks for "one certified true translation ... of your Family Census Register (Hojok Deungbon).
Does anyone know where to get this certified true transalation? Getting the family registry is easy, but where do you get a certified true translation?
A second question, but not as important. The paper work asks for all of you addresses since you were 18 years old (!). I got most of them, but can't remember one, have no idea how to get it. It's about 5 years back. Do they just gloss over it if you have one incomplete address or are they typical beaurocrats ..... ?
Thanks for the info! |

I don't know whether you are American or Canadian, but i will give you info. for American INS stuff. If you are in the USA, all you do is go to the yellow pages and look under translators, call one of them up (of course make sure they can translate korean/chinese characters) and they already have the licenses to do official translating, you bring in the document, and they translate it and stamp it. That document (i think with the original) gets sent off to the INS. This is the place my husband and i used. He called around and they were the cheapest and no you don't have to be religious to use the service. Their service was great. If you are in korea and still can't find anyone, you may be able to fax them the document..
