|

| Hey, I'm just wondering if there are any Coptic Orthodox people living here. Oh, and a second question....is playing dumb at the school bad? I can't communicate with any of the teachers or head teachers because they DON"T speak english. So, in hopes of keeping what sanity I have left at this time, I just try to fly under the radar and pretend I haven't a clue what they want......which I really don't. |

| Last I heard, the Copts were mostly based in Ethiopia, right? If that's true, then your odds are slim. Very few black (non-military) folk around here. No Ethiopian restaurants. *sob!* |

I scratched my head over this one, trying to figure out where that misconception came from. Turns out that I don't know very many Egyptians, but I know piles of Ethiopians (stacks even!) and a few of them are Copts.
Ethiopian Copts, you ask? What madness is this? Well, according to http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Ethiopian-Orthodox-Church
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church is an Oriental Orthodox church in Ethiopia that was part of the Coptic Church until it was granted its own Patriarch by Cyril VI, the Coptic Pope, in 1959.
Well, whaddayaknow? |
