I'm not going to teach there. My neighbor's daughter is trying to early entrance at these schools (or just get in, I think). She asked me what I had heard about them, from a foreigner's prospective. Maybe she just wanted to make for some nice chit-chat, but I would like to have something to tell her the next time I see her.
Does anyone feel one university is better than another? I believe her daughter is going to study international business. Heard anything good or bad about the general educational climate at either of these places? I know very little about school ranking past SNU and Yonsei being at the top.

ȭ is the top women's school in Korea and, if I recall correctly, just out of the top 10 overall.
From a foreigner's prespective, well, I don't think any Korean school cracks the top 100. |

Neither.
If she wants to do business, she should go to KAIST. |

Well, it's not a business school.
Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
For business any of the top universities such SNU, Yonsei, Korea, Hanyang, or Sogang will do. |

She can't get in those.
The way it sounds, Ewha is almost a stretch.
One of my Korean friends said she didn't think Sookmyung was very good. I've heard decent things about Ewha. It sounds like, of the two, she has a better chance at Sookmyung.
Has anyone worked there before? |

Well, yes, KAIST might not be a business school but it does have a Techno Management School, which, would you know it, my husband's uncle, Pearl (Jin-Joo) Lee founded.
All the other universities you mentioned are not solely business orientated, either.
He offered me a PhD place 5 years ago to continue my studies, which I turned down.
Incidentally, KAIST is voted the best graduate school in Asia some years back. |
