I guess the Canadian dollar is getting a lot stronger and our won isn't going as far when we send money back. 887 was the last rate I saw and that sucks majorly. My co-workers are predicting that the dollar will keep getting stronger. What do you think?

As of right now, according to XE the Canadian dollar is worth 0.853 USD. Unfu*kingbelievable. Could it even realistically get stronger? When was the last time the dollar was so high?

My dad tells me when the Canadian dollar was higher than the green back. Imagine that.

The oil sands in Alberta are going to keep on increasing huge profits for the Albertans.

The borders are opening up for the beef again.

The computer industry is becoming red hot again, which is good for the canucks. We seem to have a lot of computer geeks.

The liberals are talking about opening up the west coast to drilling natural gas and oil. If this happens, it could be explosive!

As a side note, I was thinking why we don't have oil refineries in BC? Why just in the states? Environmental laws?

Exporting to China is booming. The trade tariffs that the US is imposing on us isn't as bad as it used to be, because of the big red machine. The are beginning to eat up our surplus. Here's to hoping that the Canadian forest industry will begin to pick up again.

Our tourism industry is going to continue to grow over the next century.

The Olympics are coming to Vancouver in 2010. Obviously going to help.

What could hurt the Canadian economy,

Mad cow's disease,
Potatoe disease from the east, (Don't know the name)
West Nile Virus,
Earthquake,

My prediction is that we will see an earthquake on the west coast by the end of the year.

We will see another disease that will affect our agriculture.

The Liberal government will continue to go through shakings of corruption and scandal. This has affected our standing in the world. People have lost confidence in our Canadian leaders and this will affect people's belief in our system of commerce.

Cheers

With that being said, I think we are prime time for an earthquake on the west coast. I don't know how that will affect the economy?

Hunh? What are you basing this on? I don't mean to be disrespectful, but is your source by any chance the bible?

No worries. It was out there. Smile

The following is by Kim Clement. A noted prophet,

September 2, 2005- Whittier, CA

"'There are four regions in the United States of America where cleansing will take place,' says the Lord.

'There are four regions in this Nation,' The Spirit of God said. One shall be a Twin Territory. And God said, 'I will cleanse this Nation, for an odor and a stench has come before Me.'

And when it is all said and done, and the end of October comes, and they say, 'We will celebrate Halloween,' God said, 'There will be remorse, and I will end that day with My voice through this Nation.

'Four regions shall be cleansed. And I will cause this Nation to tremble.
'They will say, "Where Next! Is it a Hurricane? Is it a furnace? What is it?"'

The Spirit of God said, 'But listen, the elements are crying out and reacting to a Heaven that is opened over this Nation.

Gatekeepers, gatekeepers, gatekeepers of America, listen to the voice of the Lord – 'I will stop discord and division – enough is enough!

'And when the cleansing has taken place, there will be a mighty rushing wind that shall come in and restore this Nation back to order,' says the Lord of Hosts.

'I will bring them back to the place that their forefathers dreamed. I will shut the mouths that have brought division.

'There is one gatekeeper that has prayed, your President.' And God said, 'I will show him in these three months, how a nation can be shaken and restored at the same time,' says the Spirit of God.

(Keep praying with me) Everyone is focused on this Nation. Everyone is focused. . . everyone is focused on California.

When will God come and judge? But the Spirit of God said, 'I've sent prophets together on the West Coast, to make declaration that God shall take the "fornia," the fornication, and the spirit that has brought so many untold millions of people to a place of degradation, and I will do something unusual.

'I will build an altar in the midst of the perversion, and show them who is in charge of the media. WHO is in charge of the media?

'I will take CNN, and I will take some of the most powerful voices, and I will change them. And I will say, "You will no longer speak as secular humanists, but you will speak as the voice of God."

'I created the mouthpiece. I created the fog horn. I created the trumpet. I created it.'

God said, 'I created the news media. Now I will infiltrate and take over and speak to this nation MYSELF,' says the Lord."

Many of the prophets have prophesied that judgment is coming to the west coast. You can look through his words for this or you can look on www.elijahlist.com for other prophets.

Kim prophesied that a disaster was coming to New Orleans a month before it did.

You know having CNN reformed could be counted as a blessing in disguise.

Now instead of the boring reports going like this:

In Iraq today 4 terrorist killed in an US. Army operation.

They would be:

In the heathen state of Iraq 5 unbelievers met their death at the hands of our good christian boys. DEATH TO THE UNBELIEVERS!

Could almost be amusing.

The US dollar is at around 97. = 1000 Won should I wait to change over...

Ummm I hate to be the cynic but I do not believe modern day "prophets" any more than the false prophets the REAL prophets use to preach against back in the day. It's like this one goofball who said the blink of the eye would happen a while back - and it didn't but the clown is still on the radio ... ok maybe he was just guessing but ahhhh still I'd be shamed and stop doing number crunching. I will predict one thing though... The world is doomed and all mortal men will become dust. BUt God extended the life of one king and as the Lord of Toad Hall I have no doubt he'll do it anon. I really think you should examine the lives of these "megaprophets" carefully - I knew a really kind Christian man who got completely burned after buying his "guaranteed" vacation home via Jimmy and Tammy Fay Baker.

Anyhow here is a good link ...

Um, for most of us this is good because we get paid in won. For Americans the exchange rate has been getting more or less steadily getting better.

I agree. I remember the Bakers and the Swaggerts.

I would say Kim is about 50% right with some of it being kinda wishy washy at best.

However, as the church increases in its righteousness, you will see these numbers increase.

As for the earthquake, an earthquake hit LA today. Wild, eh?
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/09/23/california.quakes.ap/index.html

But I really believe it is only a warning to what is going to come.

But we could avoid that by becoming more devoutly Christian.

So I think that explains the poor Won to $CDN rate- not enough devout Christians teaching ESL.
I_Am_Wrong, you'd better get your fanny to church this Sunday.
