Tomorrow I will hop on a plane for Seoul and I'm coming WITHOUT a job Shocked Very Happy I'd just like to use YOU guys & gals to get some quick help with openings at your school. Is your school hiring? And would you recommend that I apply? Send me a PM if you think so!

I swear I'd be a good workmate. I'm cool... I'm hip... tuck-a-tuck-a-tuck-a.

Good on you for just getting on that plane. Takes a lot of guts to do that. I bet you'll find a much better job that way than if you signed up from your home country. Good luck!

PS Not in Korea anymore so sorry but no job leads

I made it to Korea with ease and I'm now staying with a friend in Bundang. I almost screwed up though, because I bought a one-way ticket to Seoul without any visa. Korean law requires that you have a return ticket in 30 days if you enter the country on travel visa. I knew I read that somewhere, I just didn't think it would apply to me... oops. Well, I just had to buy a refundable ticket post-hast before I left. Very Happy

We did the same and came out here without a job. If you do your research you can get a good job but as you can see if you read what happened to us - amyjane ' school has been sold' if you find a good school check that they have no plans on selling it or transferring it to a new owner. We thought we had a great school and we did for three weeks until it was sold now we're in a right mess! make sure you ask all the obvious questions and don't sign a contract until you've spoken to the other teachers, met the director etc etc. There are loads of jobs and they will all grab you when they find out your already here. Don't take the first job shop around!
I would advice coming to Korea and working out whereabouts you want to live as that can make a difference and what you may think you want in your home country soon changes when you come out here.
You will be in a good position to negotiate because the school will not have to be for your airfare to korea. Good luck!

Are you sure your ticket is 100% refundable, Conor? Be careful and don't leave it til the last minute to cancel the flight. Obvious and common sense, I know, but some people genuinely don't know these things and then get off to a bad start in Korea because of something that was essentially their fault entirely.
