i disagree with both statements, you cant speak for ALL women harin

i really dont mind either way, like the other male posters here said, when it comes down to the wire, as long as its clean (cut or not) who cares if they've had it done or havent

also, i have very mixed feelings about any future sons getting circumcised... they dont use any anesthesia in infants.. just because they cant remember it when they're older doesnt mean they dont feel pain at that moment!!!

I was circumcised as an infant simply because it was the thing to do. Until I was about six years old, I thought males were born with two different types of *beep*'. When I first found out about circumcision, I didn't believe my parents would allow a doctor to cut off such a sensitive part of my body; it took a while for the truth to set in. Anyone (male or female) who has been circumcised without their consent has literally been tortured! Mad Just because one doesn't remember it, doesn't make it right. Culture is a 'funny' thing.

Fuc*ing swear filter! Rolling Eyes ... you know what *beep* is above.

Yeah, I didn't make a point of looking at other dude's equipment, and I grew up not knowing there was anything wrong with mine. I was I think 18 when I realized I'd been mutilated. It was a shock, as you can imagine. Want to know how I found out? Internet porn!

I think people need to be more educated about it all.

In reference to a previous post, I also prefer circumsised guys.

I think more guys should get it done as a cosmetic surgery.... after all, women get breast implants....

The attack can begin....... now.

I knew a guy, he got it done when he was 18 to fit in with the culture. After hearing about the agony he went through for 2 -3 weeks. Any woman who won't go out with me because I didn't get the snip is not worth wasting time over or getting it done for.

It really hasn't made any effect on my life, by the time a woman gets to that point, she doesn't really care or is interested. Anyway, the argument that it is cleaner being circumsised, ( is that a joke), folks we have showers and baths in this century, we all keep clean or should.

I wasnt saying guys HAVE to get it done, what I was trying to say was that it should be acceptable (and more common) as a cosmetic surgery. Women have surgery all the time to make men happy, and yes to also make themselves feel better (but if men were attracted to fat, old, flat chested, ugly women, then they wouldnt be having all this surgery in the first place).

And I also think it's bad to do something like this to a child who does not understand, will not remember it, and is not told about it. Count yourselves lucky its not as bad as FGM.

Why? It makes no sense and can only cause harm, reduce sexual pleasure, etc.

Bull-oney. Women love to punish themselves and be cruel to one another, using men as a scapegoat. Women do these things to themselves, men don't.

If Bill Gates gave me a billion dollars, I wouldn't be poor. That' doesn't mean it's Gates's fault that I'm poor.

Who says it's not? Both are cruel and pointless. Perpetrators should be punished.

In the United States at least people with uncut members are laughed at, seen as freaks, and whispered about their entire, pathetic lives. Most of the time their parents were dirty hippies or "earthy" wierd types, you know the ones, they feed their babies echinacea and believe in the healing powers of crystals.

"Hey, there goes Jimmy. He's a cool enough guy but I hear he's got an uncircumsized johnson."

"What a freak"

That's funny, your mom didn't seem to mind.

Quote:
In Canada the average rate of infant circumcision for boys is roughly 25%, with large regional variations. The rate in the United States has dropped to less than 60%, and will drop below 50% in a few years if present trends continue. This is already true in the Western US (35% in 1993).

Quote:
Hard figures are difficult to come by on the local circumcision scene. The New Zealand Medical Association's best guess is that around 10% of baby boys are circumcised. Other research indicates a wide cultural and racial split, with only about 1% of caucasian boys, but nearly 100% of Tongan, Samoan, and Jewish boys, currently having the operation done. Australia has similar figures to us, but in the US nearly 63% of babies are circumcised and in the UK somewhat less than 4%. It is relatively unknown in continental Europe, South America

If I were an American I would SUE my bloody weirdo parents for disfiguring me and the hospital which performed the procedure.

Check this out. I promise you that this is true.

I'm 27 and I had it done about THREE MONTHS AGO!!

The reason? I snapped the banjo string while having sex, which hurt a lot, and the doctor's reaction was "Sorry son, but the whole thing's got to come off".

I questioned him because I'd heard of people sustaining the same injury and not having to be circumcised, but he said it was the best thing because of the way it had torn, and that the scar tissue could be painful when it grew back.

It wasn't the most pleasant process to go through. It couldn't walk properly or leave the house for a week after the op, and i had to take three differnt types of painkillers for a week as well.

THe worst thing though, was that I wasn't allowed to get an erection for two weeks. Doctors orders. This is easy enough to manage while you're awake, but the searing pain I woke up with at seven o'clock every morning was beyond description.

The end result? I'm MUCH happier without a foreskin, and I'd even say that it was worth a week of pain as I prefer it, my girlfriend prefers it, and sex is much better.

I wasn't really shy of telling people, as I had to explain not being sociable and off work etc, and as a result one of the most startling things was the number of guys I knew who'd said they'd ALSO had it done in adulthood for a variety of reasons- a lot more than you'd think.

If I ever have a son I'll get his snipped off straight away, as there's no way I'd want hime to stand a chance of going through it in adulthood like I had to.

BE CAREFUL FELLAS!!

If its not broke - why cut it off???

Actually I saw this link on here months ago - and thought it was none of anybodies business to be demanding Korean people circumcise the young, natural sons bodies so early in life - if AT ALL.... and this thread should never have been made on Daves Teachers ESL site...... as its too controversial... selfish, bossy OP....

and I was even more surprised when someone over the weekend dug the link/thread back up....

anyway I never commented last time - but after reading some of the crap some people have wrote on here - just want to share a few links - maybe the OP and others can get educated more on the topic....

.... the big circumcise - ant-circumcise argument is actually a huge argument around the western world - and so far England is the only sensible western country to have stopped the practice in the early 1970's.....

An uncircumcised male grows up as a young boy into an older male with his glans fully protected - kept moist, sensitive and able to get proper full erections (with the foreskin rolled back and covering 80% of the shaft whilst erect) -
whereas
a circumcised male grows up and even while in childhood develops a keratanised, dry, desensitised glans (from no protection) loses sensitivity and in order to develop a proper erection - the shaft has to pull the skin from the base of the shaft forwards (body, hair etc) upwards to cover the shaft whilst its erect,, often causing a drooping or bent erection (as the skin that remains after circumcision is pulled too tight and is covered partially by hair etc) as it pulls the skin up from the base...

Most asians and Europeans are smart never to circumcise, and the Korean people who do are just trying to be like the americans... fools....

Here are some links against circumcision -

Foreskins For Sale ( http://www.foreskin.org/f4sale.htm )

"Parents should be wary of anyone who tries to retract their child's foreskin, and especially wary of anyone who wants to cut it off. Human foreskins are in great demand for any number of commercial enterprises, and the marketing of purloined baby foreskins is a multimillion-dollar-a-year industry."

more all the facts go to this site - http://www.foreskin.org/page2.htm
