Seems I might qualify for this next year. Anyone been down this road?

I get along happily enough on my E2 but I'm not averse to extra advantages. I've paid my dues & been an upright citizen.

I wonder who my sponsor would be. Me myself?

This is of import to me because I'm older & might like to be a parttime free agent at some point, rather than getting kicked out for want of a fulltime job.

Heres what efl-law has to say:

F2 Visa Information.

If you have been in Korea for 7 years:
You apply for an F2 visa and prove
(a) period of sojourn 7 years or more
(b) No violations of Immigration or other laws
( c) No enforcement of entry or departure for Immigration.
You then complete two forms (i) Application form for Change of Status (ii) Notarial Certificate (available at Immigration)

Note that recently Immigration have taken a view that almost no applications based on 7 years residence will succeed without further substantiating facts.

Substantiating facts, hmm. I'm certain I could get my provincial Ministry of Education vouching for me, all the way to the top. Immigration in my town knows me well & they seem an accommodating bunch.

Think it might work?
