I saw a movie once where a black man (drivers ed teacher) was teaching an asian woman how to drive. The cutesy hentai-looking asian woman, who acts the typical submissive asian portrayed in movies, starts to cry like a scared baby when he raises his voice. He immediately feels sorry and starts to try to calm her.

I thought it was a part from the beginning of "Gone in 60 Seconds" but I looked at the online script and didn't see it (didn't look really close).

Anyone know what movie this was?

Also, do you know any other recent Western movies where asian men/women are stereotyped?

I might use this in my culture class.

Thank-you!

I'm pretty sure it is Gone in 60 seconds. He goes answering nicks call and then lets her go off, predicatbly she rams the car into a ban or something.

Good film.

Lend me it Very Happy

Make your class a double feature and follow up "Gone in 60 Seconds" with Liquid Sky or Andy Warhol's Dracula.

Definately "Gone in 60 Seconds."

I am downloading it now, and I managed to preview a clip of that part. It should be finished by tonight.

As far as asian (specifically Korean) stereotypes go, check out the beginning to boyz in the hood. The korean following them in the grocery store will strike some nerves. Other ideas include any Charlie Chan movie, Rumble in the Bronx, and for an interesting switch Bruce Leeroy

There's a scene in "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle" where Harold and Kumar get involved with stereotyped Koreans at a college party. Some silly jokes in there too about Harold's mum making him Kimchi... I didn't even realise until that point that Harold was Korean.
