I have only been here for fewweeks and I already feel like I am in a bad funk. This didn't happen to me the last time I was here until I was a good six months into it. Arrgh!! I hate it when this happens.

Well far be it from me to offer useful constructive advice, but I do understand the feeling of where your at. I have been walking around feeling like I am a zombie for the last 2 or 3 weeks. It's not due to lack of sleep, or being sick, but just that feeling that I am depressed most of the time.

I think what I am finding out is that I just don't feel stimulated enough by my job. My off hours certainly have not been used to their fullest, and now I am paying the price.

Straight up man go get hammered this weekend, and find a couple of nice girls. Then get a new hobby, or start a online course. Something to invigorate your mind before you go insane.

I am a girl who likes men so picking up some "hot girls" will not do it for me.

Come kick some ass in the pit this weekend at Skunk-hell in hongdae. Let your aggression push out the frustration in a tribal manner. Seriously works for me.

Exactly.

And spreading for everyone will help you compete with the juicy girls for the attention of the foreign teachers.

Well Dudette I will be more than happy to watch you kick Demonicat's arse at Skunk hell this weekend.

Sorry about the bit of Gender confusion. In short do something that will bring a bit of a smile to your face. Maybe for you its not getting hammered, and having a good whoopee of a time with a stranger.

Wait a minute... it doesn't do much for me either.... bleeh. Either way get out of your Apartment and go do something! GO >>> if your reading this that means your ignoring me... shoo... scram... gOOO NOW!!!

Still reading? gO NOW!

Do you like sport? I find that going for a run makes me feel better. Or getting completely out of the town/city where you live and going somewhere else for a visit can really help!

I'm getting the (bad) funk too. Have been here a month. I've even taking up jogging out of boredom! I've been making weekend plans which get me through the week, visits etc...but still fucking bored during the week...And I, a kareoke queen, have not yet visited a noraebang! I think it could perhaps be the answer to everything...

yeah, i liked it much less when i came back for different reasons. here's what helps for me, honestly (and im a chick)

*cook for yourself whenever possible
*take up hobbies
*go for long walks
*get a boyfriend/best friend/someone to rant to and laugh with. try to keep good company.Find a like-minded person in a funk whatever annoys you about the country, make fun of it, mock it, and rip it to threads.
*bit torrent is your friend. find a show you love or some new movies.
*move out of the way for boorish ajumas/ajussis even if they are barreling into you and you are in the right of way (i find it makes me a lot less angry to move completely out of the way for someone than to bump into them like i used to)
*purchase an mp3 player
*keep your house organized and clean
*shop
*don't idealize things back home
*TRAVEL...abroad or even to a place in Seoul you've never been to
*do the corny tourist stuff (Namsan, chankukboonwhatever palace)
*have something (big party, trip, move) to look forward to once you leave

i feel that weekends are a definite time when you should have a great time. go dancing, get drunk, read at a coffe shop for hours while downing chais and frapuccino's...whatever...have a nice memory to carry you over until next friday. also, its nice to have someone to share everything with...if you can find that here...i recommend it.

anyway, i am definitely NOT korea's biggest cheerleader, but a good time can be had anywhere.
