I'm looking for a new contract at the moment and this information is valuable.

Cheers

3 days doesn't sound right. I thought 2 weeks was the standard. He needs to talk to efl law. Also, they are supossed to give 1 months notice.

Hi all,
I too was a teacher in that particular Kids Club and yes, its an LCI franchise. The director cannot afford enough teachers to do the job properly and so requires everyone to work overtime to fill the amount of hours. Then finds many reasons as to why he doesn't have to pay his overtime. We have had many meetings and discussions and finally, after ripping us off for literally hundreds of thousands of won monthly, they just pushed everyone to the edge. The staff refused and he is canning folks for not working the overtime. We all know this is totally illegal, but director is desperate and many of the teachers are now nearing the end of their contracts. There are three folks that are ruining what was a relatively good school and situation. Their names are "Beck", who has already lost his previous school for running out of money, Park, the head director guy that I would love to drown and a slutty witch named Anne, who is supposed to be a head teacher, but has gained an even more notorious reputation for her sleeping with the foreign teachers and then running home to her husband Gin. This place is sinking and I have many good friends still there. I wish them the best and would accept any helpful advice to anyone that has encountered this type of crap before. Please don't respond with "go to the labor board" or "thats illegal" or "see the foreign workers union" as all of these avenues have been exhausted.

Do the only thing left in a situation like this;
Steal the school attendence rolls with the names and phone numbers (and if possible addresses) of the students and IF you are backed up against the wall threaten (make sure there are no witnesses) to dedicate every effort you have to phoning all the students (well a Korean friend will) to inform them of all the dodgy crap going down in this school.

PLUS, you all might consider taping all conversations in the future.

Good luck!

That school sounds terrible, what would happen if you started a picket line out the front of the school about the mistreatment of FT's, don't answer that, I am sure there would be a truck full of rent-a-cops to pound you're head into submission.

Is there anything you can do in a situation like this, the director doesn't care about the labour board, they are quite willing to fire staff, so other than posting here and trying to warn potential teachers, the FT's have nothing.
It sucks.

I will note that this man named "Beck" has a brother-in-law working in immigration in Masan. He has blacklisted teachers and had them deported because they wanted to end their contracts legally and gave upwards of 6 weeks notice. He is a total snake. The fact that they did this to my co workers there isn't a surprise, its just plain wrong and totally unwarranted.
