i was offered a job by CDI. i was enticed by their ad that stated i would make over 3 million won. when i looked at the contract and worked all the math out, i decided to turn them down. basically you're on a part time contract, that is why they tax you at a flat 3.3%. you don't get pension money, there's no severance pay bonus, and they don't provide housing either. it worked out the same as if i got a regular single shift hogwan job with a salary of 2,000,000 won. |

That's interesting because my girlfriend works for CDI and takes home waaaaay more cash than I do. I work at a typical hagwon job paying the typical hagwon salary.
If you decide to apply, make sure it's to the 8 "real" CDI branches. They are in Cheongdam (duh), Daechi, Mokdong, Junggye, Songpa, Bundang, Ilsan, and Pyongchon. Avoid the CDI franchises popping up all over the place. They pay far less than the branches and have the possibility of being just as poorly-run as, say, a Wonderland franchise. |

Yaeh there is something very "fishy" about that operation. Myguess is that they are some sort of a pyramid scheme or something. They all use the same ad. They are popping up like mushrooms everywhere. I don't even respond to their endless spam. |

Several of my friends have worked for them and say that it's a hard but good job. |

For the most best thing that ever happened to ESL in Korea, they seem to have a hard time getting teachers. |

What happens on every single CDI thread:
"A job that pays first-year applicants more than the 2.3 million I've been making at my hogwan for the past 5 years can't possibly exist! I refuse to believe it!" |
