I will be the first person to say that I believe a journalist sources should be protected.
EXCEPT for one circumstance...
That circumstance being the divulgence of a clandestine agent who is risking their life to protect the US. Granted, in this case the ID of the agent was not a life-or-death cover, but it could have been.
Whoever leaked the name should be, if nothing else, dismissed from their position and given nothing near Secret clearance. They should only know what C-Span tells them. |
