Your ability to make these quick, casual links astounds me. |
Astounding? Why? What's the big deal?
I'm under no obligation to provide links every time i point something out. If you don't "buy" what i post, & it honestly interests you that much check it out yourself. Call it against my religion, I'm not here to deceive you or anyone else.
Thanks btw to the Hand who took the time to google it for you. |
Chill, baby. I was paying you a compliment.
It is truly astounding how your mind can link a to b to c in order to get to a conpsiracy. My comment had nothing to do with "links" in the internet sense of the word... |

Sorry, i obviously wasn't clear on your intent. At first i thought it MAY have been genuine, but then at the end you threw in something about a Las Vegas showgirl & it stuck me as if maybe you were being a little sarcastic
Typing out ideas as we do here is often prone to ambiguity or misunderstanding. Certain limiting parameters doth the medium prescribe.
As for the other, the world is rife with conspiracies of all colours & degrees. It's in fact what the entire dirty business of politics runs on. The more crafty conspirator, the more successful politician.
Case in point, who in their right mind would ever say neither Washington nor Lenin ever conspired to achieve any of their over-arching aims? |

Yes, you make a good point here. The problem with conspiracy theories and "conspiracy nuts," is that a certain percentage of them are right. Who's to know which is which, however? And, complicating things, we all know that even a broken clock is right twice every day. This doesn't make the clock a reliable indicator of the time. |

Your stalled clock-mere coincidence illustration is insightful. For their part mind you, coincidence theorists, people who insist on seeking simply to explain everything away are living their lives in a permanent state of denial.
Does ignorance truly equal bliss?
As for crackpots, my sense is there are 2 basic types: 1) sincere yet simply misinformed, and 2) actively seeking to deceive. Makes you wonder what they're really up to, eh?
Hey, who knows, maybe they're conspiring!
Thanks to Mao's Illuminized agenda, China learned to really love these guys.

Why do you need to posit the existence of an Illuminati in order to account for the rise of Marxism in various countries? Hegemonic ideologies come and go throughout history, all accross the world: Christianity in the Roman Empire, protestantism in reformation Europe, Confucianism in East Asia, etc. Were these all the result of a conspiracy by shadowy cabals? I would argue that, to a certain extent, all of these ideologies addressed themselves effectively to genuine social concerns that the then-dominant elites had proven unable or unwilling to deal with. |
