I have a feeling they'll both come up with some generic motherboard, which is why I suggested the first one. Of course, this is an assumption and I could be completely wrong. I've also got brand loyalty when it comes to video cards, so I'm biased and probably might not help you with a good choice between the GeForce 5700 and the ATI x300. I suggested the first option mainly because of the price tag and the assumption that you'd get a lot of no-name parts for the prices quoted.

Can't you just pick your parts out on pc.danawa.com and have them shipped?

If you are going to buy a new computer make sure you get a 64bit processor. If you dont', in about 1-2 years you'll regret it.

I agree, I just got a AMD 64Bit CPU system and man I am loving my 64Bit OS. Its a challange to get some apps to work but its getting easier to get 64Bit apps.

My computer at home has the parts to support a 64 Bit OS, but I haven't installed one yet. Are you running WinXP 64 Bit, or something else? What apps are you using in 64 bit? Any games in 64 bit?

I don't have 64 bit and won't for awhile yet as my computer is running fine, but I'm thinking in about 12-18 months it'll be time to buy a new computer - hopefully with a dual-core processor.

I am running XP Pro 64Bit. As for apps. Here is what I use:

CD/DVD writing: Nero (latest version) and Roxio (Roxio said it does not support 64Bit OS's but I installed it anyway and it works)

Antivirus : Avast (Free and seems fine)

I dont really play games so I have not tested out any, but many of my small apps worked fine, like Getright, Office 2003.

Tonight I am going to test out the Adobe Suite CS2 and see if that works. That will be my real test.

So far I am happy with it, and will not make the change back. One small glitch is that my printer driver is not supported. Sad But I can print from my wifes system anyway.

Cheers
