It seems like the job ads are getting more and more sneaky regarding universities. Is this ad really for Seoul National University? It doesn't seem to be teaching college students. Is this just some institute or worse, hagwon passing themselves off as the real SNU? Or is it a legitimate extention of SNU?:

And what do you think this means?

'We would particularly be interested in a candidate who could assist with the workshops and consultation services that we provide for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Departments.'

Does that mean they want you to write / correct English entrance papers for Korean students trying to enter into overseas universities?

Perhaps, you will have an opportunity to edit the papers of professors. Just think, perhaps, you can edit (or write) the research papers that insures professors' job security and salary increases while you may not have a contract renewal.

Academic Pay Not Linked to Prestige, Says Salary Study
Professors at Seoul National University, the most prestigious in Korea, are also among the worst paid? Pohang University of Science and Technology, which has the highest annual salaries at around 67 million won ($52,000), had salaries 40 million won higher than the lowest-rung schools -- a difference of nearly 240 percent. "The average annual salary of Seoul National University professors is only 37.5 million won," Mr. Sul said. "This is 71th among the 82 universities analyzed and among the lowest at public universities." The annual salary of first-year professors ranged from 17 million won at Cheju National University to 43 million won at Sungkyunkwan University.

You'd be teaching at the university's language centre. Many universities have opened, or are in the process of opening, such hagwons. I suspect universities intend to use these to improve their public image while making a considerable profit, which is fair enough. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt any relevant research in language education and linguistics comes out of these.
