i'm english.. but i'm as surprised as hell that anyone would think our food was the best! however, i would like to speak in defence of toad in the hole, which is very tasty and still legal for consenting adults
to the op, korean food does grow on you.. but then i noticed by many of your posts that you hate korea generally, so thats probably unlikely...
one of the best dishes here (i think) is called jjim-dak (���).. kind of a chicken, soy sauce and noodle-y thing which tastes awesome. |

| Nothing against Scotland because when I was there earlier this year, I loved it! Especially Edinburgh. I don't like Haggis because there is meat in it. Although, when I found out what the actual ingredients where, I was disgusted. I did try another version without meat and it wasn't good either. Black pudding..what's in that? |

As a vegeterian you might not want to try Black Pudding as delicious as it is, it is made of pigs blood!!!!

Black pudding is:
1 quart pig's blood
1 quart milk
three quarters pound bread crumbs
1 cup cooked barley
a half pound suet
1 cup dry oatmeal
salt and pepper to taste
1 ounce powdered mint
I included the ingredients incae you wanted to make one at home. It is formed into something like a large sausage and normally fried with bacon and eggs etc in a fry up. |

It's a crying shame how England's old food culture has been lost to a modern world of Chavs and "Maccer D's". English folk, with rare exceptions, have forgotten how to cook with fresh (proper) ingredients. However, English food, like any other national food cooked well and with passion and knowledge, is exceptional. I defy any person to eat roast beef (done rare), Yorkshire Pud, roast spuds and gravy and not go "mmm mmm mmm". I genuinely miss my Mum's (and my own) cooking no matter how delicious Kimchie Chigae is!

Yes, quite.
Although recent revelations suggest she in fact - despite giving the impression she's about as happy in Korea as a dog shortly to become Bosingtang - happy as Larry! She's evidently rather schizophrenic and didn't mean to say she hates Korea at all. She just forgot where and who she was for a second, woke with a completely different personality and only a vague recollection of previous comments. She's in fact having a blast in a city with no character and in a country whose food is loathsome and whose culture is heinous. She also said she had no idea how there came to be a picture of her with a stripper or where that tattoo on her butt came from.  |

ever try soondae? and i dont mean the crap made of plastic wrapping with glass noodles inside either, i mean the real soondae
whilst in Dublin a couple of years ago, the only reason i was willing to try black (and white) pudding was because i was accustomed to eating soondae... although i cant eat a lot of any of them in one sitting, a few slices of black pudding was good with my Irish breakfast! (eggs, beans, fried tomatoes, sausage, black & white pudding and toast) |

Sausage and mash.........that was what really rocked in England, but there is a pub called THE SHAKESPEARE near Victoria Station that serves the BEST fish and chips!
WORST: Philippino food! On average, it is just a table with different "stews" that usually are bland. The best think to eat in the p.I are the bbq outside chicken places! |

I agree that Philippines cuisine isn't great. Adobo notwithstanding.
I'm not a big fan of Thai food. Sorry, I just don't get the fascination. Indian is faaaaaaaaar better. Same with Lao. |

I know what Hae mul is but I was explaining in the context of the dish. Seafood is a bit general as a description.
I am not sure about the proper pronouciation of Cho mu. I just know I say Cho mu gim bab ju se yo at a restuarant near where i work and I get it.
I spent 3.5 months in China eating Chinese food everyday and didn't see it often. Maybe it just doesn't pop up often on English menus. I saw lots of dishes with black bean sauce in China but they seemed to taste quite different. |
