that shit basically killed my 7 year relationship. Unless you've got some John and Yoko style soulmate stuff going on it might be a dealbreaker |

If you're together 7 years and don't have any of that soulmate stuff going on, that's a pity. |

To Simone
I resent what you said. The last 7 years of my life weren't 'a pity.' I ain't got no respect for you. |

I guess it really depends on if you plan on marrying your gf/bf. Korea is actually a pretty good way to test your commitment to each other. If you can handle spending 24/7 with each other for a whole year, chances are you'll be able to stick anything out until your old and grey.
I came to Korea with my bf, got married after the first year, then came back for a second year. We live in the country and literally only talk to each other. To us, home is wherever we are together. |

To be honest, I had the same thought - would this work out living and woring together for a year???
At home we had lived together for years - but had never worked together...so I was really worried that we would get sick of the sight of each other.
However its turned out to be fine. It's good to have someone at work who will back you up if something goes wrong. Its great for saving money, and now when I come home and talk about what happened at work he totally gets what Im saying.
Its also kinda cute when the kids figure out your a couple....or that there is some connection between the two of you. We have had some interesting comments like "I know who your mummy is....your mummy is alwyn teacher!" and "Are you and alwyn teacher married? Friends? I know she is a hot woman who makes Troy teacher happy!"
Oh - if your not married.....be prepared for the 20 questions about marriage! Why arent you married...when are you getting married???
We get this all the time from Koreans and other foriegners.
but yes it can work! |
