Last Thursday, Friday and today (Monday) has been test day for Grades 1 & 2, so I haven't had to teach them. I did have two Grade 3 classes last Friday. That's it. Tomorrow, as a reward for taking tests, Grades 1 & 2 are going to Bugok Hawaii for 'a picnic' all day and all Grade 3 classes are cancelled for the day. (Since I started work here Sept. 1 there hasn't been one single full week of classes. And it's almost pay day again. What a deal!)

Mr. Lee just came over and told me the plan and said I have a choice. I can go swimming with the boys or I can stay home all day. (No school at all.) Or I can come to part of the 'picnic' if I want. On picnic days everyone can go home at 2 or 3 o'clock. What to do? What to do?

Go on the picnic. I went on a school trip to Ilsan with the grade 3s and had a blast.

take the day to yourself; do something fun that would normally be very popular i.e. go to Everland. The place will be empty and you'll be first in line for all the rides.

To answer the bit about moral ambiguity, think of it this way: you're on a renewable 1 year contract. you'll never get the pay raises your colleagues do, nor will you ever get the desk near the window. You'll never receive the same benefits or acknowledgements they do. Part of your pay package are at least 15 "get out of work" free cards. Use them at your discretion.
