|
|
I want to set up two accounts on my home PC. My account which will be password protected, and then a Guest account. I've created the guest account, but I don't want that account to be able to access any media files, music, video... how do I do that on Windows XP Home edition? Essentially I want the guest account to be for general internet type stuff... like if a friend has to check email...
Thanks... |

Store the files on your desktop or my documents folder then go to right click -> my computer -> properties -> Advanced tab -> User Settings Button -> Click on you profile and make it private. It already should be that.
On winxp Pro not sure about home I never used it.
Try also opening up my computer C: drive Tools -> folder options -> View -> Scroll to the bottom and disable simple file sharing. Go to the folder you want to secure right click -> Properties -> security tab -> then click on the newly created guest account and delete it from permissions or deny everything. (Becareful because you can actually screw your own permissions by accident.)
That is if I remember correctly.. I use Winxp Pro. Its different in pro. |

| Just put your stuff in/under your "my documents" folder and then when she logs in she will not have access to your "stuff". Also, make her a "limited user". |
