I was walking with my korean girl friend the other evening past a bus stop. Well, after we had walked a few paces past the stop, an adjoshi started making some fairly loud comments in korean. Now, my korean is horrible at best, but from what I could pick out he was yelling at her and saying that she wasn't good enough for a korean man and thats why she was with me. The comment made her tear up but she kept walking. So I asked her what he had said, and she said he didnt say anything about us.

This is my first experience dating a native here, so my question is if this has happened to other english teachers? If so, does it happen often? And, did the girl you were dating ever tell you what was said or make comments back?

Any advice on how to deal with this would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Laugh, or if you're of normal Western size, pick the guy up and spin him around above your head a few times, then give him a wedgie when you set him down. Shuts them up EVERY time.
