OK, you got me. Embarassed Oh the shame of it. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed How shall I ever live this down? Shocked Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Confused Shocked Mad Embarassed Laughing

I guess I should have thought about that a bit more. What I was trying to get at though is that time put in teaching at a hagwan doesn't count for anything. I mean a potential employer would probably equate teaching in a hagwan with working on a banana plantation....... as a peel.

Whereas, teaching in a real school (depending where) can be regarded as worthwhile - in terms of career developent.

Where are you coming up with this information?!

I think I read somewhere that you are looking for a ESL job and you are having trouble finding employment because you are in your fourties, right? Well, you should have learned by now, "it's not what you know but WHO you know that counts." Another important thing to remember is that your REFERENCES are just as important if not MORE important than where you last worked. You could have worked at Harvard as an Education DEAN and if you were fired you don't have much of a chance of getting another job at another university...... UNLESS you KNOW someone, someone important. Is any of this sinking in? I hope so.

And your point is...

Because apparently, I don't know the right people.

If I have offended you, I apologize. I was trying to make a joke, perhaps I should not seek employment as a comedian either. Cool

Someone tries to give you insite and all you do is shrug it off with insensitive joking. You're a real buffoon card alright - comedy might be just the place for you. Laughing Good luck on your mindless job searching as an amature comedian.

Now, my point is.... you just don't GET IT! Rolling Eyes

For me it would depend on how much I liked my job. At my old hogwan I would have said "I didn't do the report cards because I'm not getting adequately paid for doing them and don't see why I should do any extra work for you". But then my old hogwan stopped letting me do report cards because I refused to lie on them.

However, if you do like your job and have nothing really pressing to do, why not?
