PLUS........The Kiwi rugby league team beat Australia at the SCG for the first time since 1959 with a score of 38-28.

AND.........Otago beat Canterbury at Eden park to go to the NPC final against the Auks next weekend.

What a great sporting weekend, two underdogs, pretty much write off teams really come out and outclas their opposition. Fantastic stuff!

You missed this heart warming story on the same website:

Marmite-loving cat finds new home
17 October 2005

The tree-hugging, marmite-eating cat of Lodge Road, Napier, is off to a new home.

Last week the cat entertained Marewa residents with a week of off-pitch howling from its refugee nest among the branches of a two-storey phoenix palm.

Animal control officers, SPCA officers, even firefighters had all attempted failed rescue missions on the cat before a local radio station ZM offered a $400 cash prize to whoever could get the moggie down.

Hastings painter Jamie Green came to the feline's rescue by using a ladder and the lunch in his back pocket - a marmite sandwich - and claimed the cash booty.

The cat stayed in the care of Lodge Road residents over the weekend after nobody came forward to claim the missing feline.

Mr Green today agreed again to be the cat's guardian angel by taking it into the care of himself and his cat-loving girlfriend.

Mr Green has named the cat Marmite.

Yes...how true. Actually i just read that the otago team have conceded and won't bother travelling up to eden park on the weekend as they have run out of bus coupons and it's not likely that they will all be able to hitch a ride up in time.

Canterbury have been the best npc team for the last 5 years. It's going to be a good game.
