In case you didn't know, there's going to be an indie rock festival this weekend in Hongdae. Festivities start on Friday. I don't know too many details, but Crying Nut is slated to be there, along with numerous other bands. They'll be playing on outdoor stages set up around the central Hongik Uni. Entrance and Picasso Street. I think there's also stuff going on in certain clubs as well. Speaking of which...
There's also something else going on called "Go! Go! Girl Punk!" "Go! Go! Girl Punk" will feature "Ni Hao" "The Rock Tigers" and "Shorty Cat" in a celebration of girl punk rock, on Friday October 21, and Saturday October 22.

Friday's (21st) event will be at Club Drug (DGBG) and Saturday's (22) gig at Skunk Hell, both in Hongdae.
Who can say no to Girl Punk? BE THERE OR BE TRIANGLE. |

my sources tell me that there'll be free booze after 10:30 at that girl punk party too.
(3 * Bands) + Free Booze = 15,000?
I'm all over it like a cheap suit |

The website for the Seoul Indie Music Fest is:
http://www.liveclubfest.com/
If someone who knows Korean could relay some of the info found on that page to here in English, that would be great! The poster looks good. |

If Skunk Hell doesn't serve booze, how are they going to serve booze after 10:30? |

They just pass around soju / oj mixers. They're pretty tough on rules there so make sure you don't try to do anything un-punk and kill the scene. |

also, for those of us that are coming from out of seoul to come to this show: what would be our options? The subway doesn't run very late right? Is there anyother way to get back to Suwon later or are there any cheap cheap places to stay in that area? |

lots of yeogwans in Sinchon which is just next to Hongdae- but why not just stay out till 6?
That japanese band are frigging ace by the way- a bit like sonic youth if they were 3 japanese girls and wrote different songs |

I wanted to stay out til 6 but because of my damn cold I decided to catch the last train.
You're right, Ni-Hao! were ace. They were also extremely nice and cute. It appeared as though they really had a good time playing. They were like if early nomeansno was three Japanese girls.
Whoever the promoter was, I just want to say thanks for the great show and I hope more are to come. |
