I have a high school student who is preparing for international study at a prepratory school in United States..
Anyhow the school wants a Non-academic Recommendation Letter from her teacher (me)
Since I havn't written one before, could anyone offer some help in this area.. i.e. some useful sites, sample letters.. something to stear me in the right direction.

http://www.boxfreeconcepts.com/reco/sample.html ---> take a close look at Sample College Recommendation (One) and Sample College Recommendation (Two). In your student's case, you may want to include things like his/her (good)English ability, friendliness, classroom manner, and the like.
There are three main types of letters of recommendation: professional, academic, and personal. Yours will be more of a personal one, but still should be somewhat academically focused as you are the student's teacher. |
