Yesterday I heard a really strange home remedy. Apparently if your stomach hurts you should force lots of blood into your arms and hands then cut your finger so you bleed. This little adventure in blood letting is supposed to relieve your stomach ache.
What are some other strange home Korean remedies. |

Pricking your thumbs just below the thumbnail. My ex-girlfriend used to do this to me all the time., and so did the nurse at my school (well, to the students, not me ). |

What is this supposed to cure? Stomach pain, or is it a general remedy for everything?

My wife does this. Absolutely disturbing and baseless from a medical standpoint I'm sure. How can you cure a stomach ailment by squeezing the "bad blood" from your fingers? How does the bad blood from your fingers have any relationship with your stomach problem.
I get a little smack every time I call this pratice "Korean voodoo". My wife insists that it has it's origin in Chinese medecine, however, I don't see how it works. |
